Features
After returning to Bengaluru Bulls for Season VI, raider Pawan Kumar Sehrawat lit up the VIVO Pro Kabaddi stage and was instrumental in leading his side to their maiden VIVO Pro Kabaddi title.
Sehrawat delivered top performances on a consistent basis over the course of the campaign and capped it off with a record-setting performance in the final and for his efforts, the raider was bestowed with the Most Valuable Player award for Season VI. With an individual campaign as extraordinary as Sehrawat enjoyed, there are bound to be some records that were set and broken. Here are some of the most impressive ones:
Most points in VIVO Pro Kabaddi Final
With Bengaluru Bulls trailing by eight points in the second half of the VIVO Pro Kabaddi Season VI final against Gujarat Fortunegiants, the team needed its star performers to deliver if they were to overturn the deficit. Up stepped Sehrawat and scored a raid point atleast in six straight raid attempts to help Bengaluru Bulls claw their way back into the contest and eventually win the contest by five points. Sehrawat finished the night with 22 points, the most in a final, surpassing the previous mark of 19 set by Pardeep Narwal in Season V.
Super Raid Specialist
Sehrawat made a big impact in Bengaluru Bulls’ opening match of the season against Tamil Thalaivas, scoring two Super Raids in a stunning 20-point performance that set the tone for the rest of his campaign. He eventually finished Season 6 with 12 Super Raids, the joint second-most in a VIVO Pro Kabaddi campaign alongside Rishank Devadiga, who managed it in Season V.
Historic Scoring Season
In his 24 appearances, Sehrawat scored a mammoth 271 points at a fantastic average of 11.29, the highest of any player in Season VI. In doing so, Sehrawat became one of only three players in VIO Pro Kabaddi history to average over 10 raid points in a campaign, alongside Pardeep Narwal, who has done it twice and Siddharth Desai. His 271 raid points are also the second-most in a single VIVO Pro Kabaddi campaign behind Pardeep Narwal’s mark of 369 that he set in Season V.
Efficiency in Raiding
Off his 375 raid attempts in Season VI, Sehrawat managed to score atleast a point in 209 of those, giving him a successful raid percentage of 56, which ranks the best-ever in VIVO Pro Kabaddi history among players with over 150 raid points in a single campaign. Sehrawat also became only the fourth man in league history to average over 8.50 successful raids per match in a campaign alongside Rahul Chaudhari, Rohit Kumar and Pardeep Narwal.
