71st Senior National Men’s Kabaddi Championship, Day 3: Round of 16 fixtures announced

The third day of the 71st Senior National Men’s Kabaddi Championship witnessed another action-packed day of kabaddi in Cuttack, Odisha.

A total of 10 pool matches were scheduled to be played on Day 3 of the 71st Senior National Men’s Kabaddi Championship, followed by the Round of 16 matches.

Gujarat pipped Madhya Pradesh 54-53 in the opening match on the third day of the competition in Pool D. Despite the narrow defeat, Madhya Pradesh booked their place in the Round of 16.

Title contenders Services defeated Jammu & Kashmir 50-30 in their final Pool E fixture to advance to the Round of 16.

Meanwhile, Goa beat Chhattisgarh 62-39 in their Pool E fixture to secure their place in the playoffs.

Elsewhere in Pool H, the Rahul Chaudhari-led Uttar Pradesh continued their winning momentum as they thrashed Pondicherry 67-34 to storm into the Round of 16.

On the other hand, Karnataka overcame West Bengal 45-18 while Punjab defeated Uttarakhand 58-37 to move to the Round of 16.

Hosts Odisha’s final pool game against Rajasthan, Kerala’s fixture versus Tripura and Tamil Nadu’s game against Assam were abandoned on Day 3.

Following the conclusion of the pool stage matches, the Round of 16 fixtures were announced.

Defending champions Haryana will lock horns with Tamil Nadu while Railways will square off against Karnataka in the Round of 16.

Madhya Pradesh will take on a star-studded Services outfit in a bid to book their place in the quarter-finals.

Maharashtra will face hosts Odisha in their Round of 16 clash while Pawan Sehrawat’s Chandigarh will clash with Goa for a place in the last eight.

All matches in the 71st Senior National Men’s Kabaddi Championship will be played at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Cuttack, Odisha.
