71st Senior National Men’s Kabaddi Championship, Day 4 Updates: Services face Punjab, Railways take on Uttar Pradesh in the semi-finals

The 71st Senior National Men’s Kabaddi Championship will conclude on Sunday, February 23 with three matches scheduled to be played on the fourth and final day of the competition in Cuttack, Odisha.

Services will square off against Punjab in the first semi-final while Railways will lock horns with Uttar Pradesh in the other semi-final.

Featuring a star-studded squad with the likes of Naveen Kumar, Devank Dalal, Bharat Hooda, Rahul Sethpal, Ankit Jaglan and Jaideep Dahiya, Services knocked out defending champions Haryana 43-32 in the first quarter-final on Saturday. Earlier, Services beat Madhya Pradesh 57-22 in their pre-quarter-final tie.

Meanwhile, Punjab booked their place in the semi-finals after a 35-26 victory over Maharashtra. With PKL stars such as Vijay Malik and Saurabh Nandal in their squad, Punjab earlier defeated Bihar 47-18 in their Round of 16 clash.

Last edition’s finalists Railways continued their impressive form as they edged out Rajasthan 54-31 in the quarter-finals on Saturday. Earlier, Railways knocked out Karnataka 48-27 in the Round of 16 with the likes of Jitender Yadav, Jai Bhagwan and Sachin Tanwar in their squad.

On the other hand, Uttar Pradesh stormed into the semi-finals with a 51-26 victory over Goa in their quarter-final encounter on Saturday. Having assembled a formidable squad with captain Rahul Chaudhari and star raider Arjun Deshwal in their ranks, Uttar Pradesh previously beat Telangana 46-23 in their Round of 16 clash.

The winners of the two semi-finals will clash in the 71st Senior National Men’s Kabaddi Championship Final on Sunday.

The two semi-finals and the final will be played at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Cuttack, Odisha.
