Kabaddi at the 38th National Games kicked off in Haridwar, Uttarakhand on Wednesday, January 29.
Top kabaddi stars like Pawan Sehrawat, Ayan Lohchab, Gaurav Khatri (Chandigarh), Devank Dalal, Rahul Sethpal, Jaideep Dahiya, Ankit Jaglan, Bharat Hooda (Services), Arjun Deshwal, Vinay (Uttar Pradesh), Jitender Yadav, Sachin Tanwar and Jai Bhagwan (Rajasthan) are representing their respective states or employers in the five-day kabaddi extravaganza from January 29th to February 2nd.
Meanwhile, Chandigarh defeated Uttar Pradesh 38-35 in the opening match of Day 2 of the 38th National Games at the Yogasthali Khel Parisar, Roshnabad Stadium in Haridwar.
Having started their campaign with a 62-50 win over Maharashtra, Chandigarh have qualified for the semi-finals from Pool B with two wins in two games.
Defending men’s kabaddi champions Services have also stormed into the semi-finals of the National Games 2025 as they beat hosts Uttarakhand 59-45 in Pool A on Thursday.
With a star-studded squad, Services earlier beat Haryana 41-36 in their opening Pool A fixture. Having registered consecutive victories, Services have secured their place in the last four of the men’s kabaddi event.
On the other hand, Maharashtra bounced back in an emphatic fashion to thrash Karnataka 74-28 in their second match of the tournament. With the massive win, Maharashtra remained in contention for the semi-finals.
Elsewhere on Day 2, Haryana also returned to winning ways with a 54-46 victory over Rajasthan in their Pool A fixture to stay alive in the men’s kabaddi event.
