Uttar Pradesh, Services, Chandigarh and Haryana registered victories on Day 3 of the men’s kabaddi event at the 38th National Games in Haridwar, Uttarakhand on Friday, January 31.
Led by their talisman Arjun Deshwal, Uttar Pradesh pipped Maharashtra 50-49 in a nail-biting Pool B fixture at the Yogasthali Khel Parisar, Roshnabad Stadium. With six points from three matches, Uttar Pradesh finished second in Pool B to book their place in the men’s kabaddi semi-finals.
After securing their place in the semi-finals on Thursday, the Pawan Sehrawat-led Chandigarh continued their brilliant form as they beat Karnataka 48-35 to finish on top of the Pool B standings with three wins. Having accumulated nine points from three games, Chandigarh finished three points clear of the second-placed Uttar Pradesh.
On the other hand, Haryana became the fourth team to confirm the semi-final spot in the men’s kabaddi event with a 49-28 win over hosts Uttarakhand. With the commanding victory, Haryana finished second in the Pool A standings with six points from three matches.
Just like Chandigarh, defending champions Services registered their third consecutive win in the National Games 2025.
With an impressive 50-34 win against Rajasthan, the star-studded Services finished on top of the Pool A standings with nine points from three matches.
Meanwhile, the two semi-finals are scheduled to be played on February 1 while the men’s kabaddi final will take place on February 2 at the Yogasthali Khel Parisar, Roshnabad Stadium.
