Season 6 of VIVO Pro Kabaddi saw a host of players break new ground, and the upcoming campaign promises to deliver more of the same. With many players on the brink of milestone marks, we take a look at some of the most impressive ones that we could witness in Season 7:
1. 1,000 points – Rahul Chaudhari and Pardeep Narwal
Since the inception of VIVO Pro Kabaddi, ‘Showman’ Rahul Chaudhari has been among the top scorers and also a trendsetter in scoring milestones, being the first to break the 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700 and 800-point barrier. He currently sits atop the scoring charts with 876 points but is closely trailed by two-time league MVP and Patna Pirates ace, the ‘Record-Breaker’ Pardeep Narwal, who has 865 points to his name.
Both Chaudhari and Narwal will likely be the first two players to surpass the 1,000-point mark in Season 7, which will be a historic landmark and an unprecedented feat.
2. 300 tackle points – Ravinder Pahal
Dabang Delhi K.C. Right Corner Ravinder Pahal has been a stalwart in defence since the inaugural season of VIVO Pro Kabaddi and, in the upcoming campaign, the veteran can add another chapter to his storied career by becoming only the second man to score 300 tackle points in VIVO Pro Kabaddi.
Pahal has 273 tackle points and trails only Manjeet Chhillar in the all-time list, who has 302 tackle points to his name.
3. 50 Super 10s – Pardeep Narwal
Since his breakthrough year for Patna Pirates in Season 3, Pardeep Narwal has been a point-scoring machine, leading his team to three VIVO Pro Kabaddi titles and breaking a multitude of records along the way. In Season 7, the 22-year-old could become the first player in league history to score 50 Super 10s.
Narwal currently has 44 Super 10s, which is the most all-time.
4. 150 Do-Or-Die Raid Points – Deepak Niwas Hooda and Rahul Chaudhari
Raiding in a must-score scenario takes immense mental fortitude and belief in one’s ability, and Deepak Niwas Hooda and Rahul Chaudhari have mastered the art of delivering under pressure. Hooda and Chaudhari have 141 and 140 raid points respectively in Do-Or-Die situations, trailing only Ajay Thakur, who has 155.
Both players will likely be getting plenty of opportunities in Do-Or-Die raids in Season 7 and could both break the 150-point mark in that tense situation.
