The Pro Kabaddi Season 11 witnessed some extraordinary performances from several world-class defenders. As they say attack wins you games, defence wins you titles, PKL defenders once again took the mat by storm with their impressive super tackles, chain tackles, blocks and dashes. With that being said, here we take a look at the top defenders of Pro Kabaddi League Season 11.
Mohammadreza Shadloui - Haryana Steelers
Iranian star all-rounder Mohammadreza Shadloui emerged as the top defender in Pro Kabaddi Season 11. Shadloui played a pivotal role in guiding Haryana Steelers to their maiden PKL title in Season 11. With another title-winning campaign, the 24-year-old showstopper bagged his second consecutive PKL trophy after winning with Puneri Paltan last season. He finished the campaign as the leading tackle point scorer in PKL 11 with 82 points, including four Super Tackles and five High 5s. Having redefined the definition of an all-rounder, Shadloui also contributed with 57 raid points in Season 11.
Ankit Jaglan - Patna Pirates
Patna Pirates’ newly-appointed captain Ankit Jaglan grabbed the headlines with his consistent performances to guide his side to the PKL Season 11 final. Having led from the front, Jaglan finished the season as the second-highest tackle point scorer in PKL 11 with 79 tackle points. He also notched up eight Super Tackles and four High 5s. Apart from his defensive capabilities, Jaglan’s stellar leadership helped the Pirates qualify for the PKL final for a record-extending fifth time before losing to Haryana Steelers in the summit clash.
Nitesh Kumar - Tamil Thalaivas
Nitesh Kumar enjoyed a spectacular campaign on a personal front despite his side Tamil Thalaivas failing to secure a playoffs berth in Pro Kabaddi Season 11. The left corner defender turned the mat into a fortress throughout the season as he accumulated 77 tackle points in 22 matches. He also managed three Super Tackles and eight High 5s in the recently-concluded edition of the PKL.
Yogesh Bijender Dahiya - Dabang Delhi K.C.
After being adjudged the New Young Player of the Season 10, Dabang Delhi K.C.’s Yogesh Dahiya once again hogged the limelight in PKL Season 11. Yogesh emerged as the best defender of his team to help them finish second in the PKL Season 11 standings. Having scored 75 tackle points in PKL 11 with a 56 per cent tackle success rate, the talented youngster ended the campaign as the leading tackle point scorer for Dabang Delhi K.C. Apart from registering 5 High 5s, Yoyesh also concluded the season with the most number of Super Tackles (10).
Nitin Rawal - Bengaluru Bulls
Bengaluru Bulls’ Nitin Rawal was one of the standout defenders in the Pro Kabaddi Season 11. The star all-rounder produced some memorable performances in a season to forget for the Bulls. A lone warrior for the Bulls, Rawal amassed 74 tackle points in 22 matches to finish as the fifth-highest tackle point scorer in PKL 11. A robust tackler on the mat, Rawal finished the season with eight Super Tackles and five High 5s. He also contributed with two raid points in Pro Kabaddi Season 11.
