Rupam Islam reciting the National Anthem on Day 8 of Star Sports Pro Kabaddi

Season 2 of Star Sports Pro Kabaddi has promised to create a place of pride for the National Anthem, something that is unique only to Star Sports Pro Kabaddi itself. By playing host to eminent personalities, local musicians and bands to deliver the anthem, Star Sports Pro Kabaddi hopes to capture the essence of kabaddi as a truly Indian sport through special recitations of the National Anthem every day of the tournament.

To continue the tradition of creating a special place for the National Anthem in Star Sports Pro Kabaddi, on Day 8 of the tournament, the last day of the Kolkata leg, Rupam Islam recited the National Anthem as part of a symbol of Bengali music.

While his band, Fossils, has been one of the leading performers in the Bengal region for more than 10 years, one reason why Rupam’s music resonates with the Bengali community especially is because of his lyrics which moves the youth of the community. He is also a National Award winner known for his charitable work for children.
