The 47th Junior National Kabaddi Championship is all set to get underway at Suryapet, Telangana from 22nd March to 25th March 2021. The future stars of Indian kabaddi are set to take centre stage and battle it out in India's premier junior inter-state kabaddi championship.
Defending champions, Sports Authority of India (SAI), will take on Bihar in the opening encounter in the Boys category; while the reigning champions, Haryana, will lock horns with Jammu & Kashmir in the inaugural match in the Girls category at Telangana.
With the best of budding talent on display, the stage is set for yet another fascinating Junior Kabaddi championship with all the teams fighting for the much-coveted trophy. A total of 105 matches will be played across the four-day competition, featuring 29 and 28 boys’ and girls’ teams respectively.
The boys group is divided into eight pools (A-H), with Pool A, B and C consisting of three teams each, while the remaining five groups feature four teams each. The groups are as follows:
Similarly, in the girls category, there are eight groups, with the first four pools (A to D) featuring three teams each. The remaining four pools (E to H) have four teams each. The pools of girls draw are as follows:
The four-day fest has a lot of intriguing encounters in store for us, and it will be enthralling to see which teams come out on top in both categories. The knockout phase will begin on 24th March, followed by the quarter-finals on the same day. Finals and semifinals for both boys’ and girls’ will take place on 25th March at Suryapet, Telangana.
