A Super 10 from Sachin and a High 5 from Mohammadreza Chiyaneh helped Patna Pirates beat the Bengal Warriors 38-29. With this win, the Pirates ascended to the top of the vivo Pro Kabaddi Season 8 standings.
The game was close in the opening few minutes, as both raiding units found success, and only a point separated the two teams on the scoreboard. But three straight points from the Pirates swung the momentum in their favour. The Warriors managed to cut the four point deficit to one, but Patna soon took control of proceedings with a 6-0 run to take a 15-7 lead.
A touch point from Mohammad Nabibakhsh kept the All Out at bay. But the Pirates weren’t to be denied, as they took just two raids to take care of the final two Warriors on the mat to inflict an All Out and take a 19-10 lead. The Pirates added two more points to their total before the end of the first half to go into the break leading by 11.
The opening few minutes of the second half were evenly contested, as the Warriors pushed to cut the deficit, but the Pirates did enough to maintain their 11-point advantage.
A 5-1 from the Warriors gave them renewed hope of a potential comeback. But three points in two raids from Sachin pushed the Pirates’ lead back up to nine and left the Warriors with a solitary man on the mat. Patna made no mistake in inflicting an All Out to reclaim their 11-point advantage and put the game beyond Bengal’s reach.
With victory out of sight, the Warriors tried to get the deficit to seven to earn a point from the contest. But Patna did not relent and kept adding points to their total and won the game by nine points.
