Stars from Haryana Steelers, Patna Pirates and Tamil Thalaivas shine with individual honours in PKL Season 11

Season 11 of the Pro Kabaddi League concluded in thrilling fashion on Sunday, December 29. The Haryana Steelers clinched their maiden PKL title with a 32-23 victory over the Patna Pirates in the final at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Pune. The triumph marked redemption for the Steelers, who had fallen short in the Season 10 final against Puneri Paltan.

Skipper Jaideep led from the front as the team delivered a stellar all-round performance. Shivam Patare starred with nine total points, while Mohammadreza Shadloui and Vinay contributed seven total points and six raid points, respectively.

After 137 action-packed matches this season, the standout performers were recognized for their brilliance. Here's a look at the award winners from PKL Season 11.

Mohammadreza Shadloui (Haryana Steelers) - Most Valuable Player (MVP) of Season 11

All-rounder Mohammadreza Shadloui proved to be the driving force behind the Season 11 champions with his stellar performances on both ends of the mat. Known for dictating the pace of play, ‘Showstopper’ Shadloui wrapped up the season with an impressive 139 total points. Equally effective in attack and defence, he amassed 57 raid points and 82 tackle points across 24 matches. His remarkable consistency included five High 5s, earning him the well-deserved title of Most Valuable Player (MVP) for PKL Season 11.

Nitesh Kumar (Tamil Thalaivas) - Best Defender of Season 11

Tamil Thalaivas' Nitesh Kumar showcased his dominance in defence throughout Season 11, delivering clutch performances that often kept his team in contention during crucial moments. While the Thalaivas fell short of reaching the Playoffs, Nitesh consistently rose to the occasion, producing some of the season's most memorable tackles. Over 22 matches, he accumulated an impressive 77 tackle points, including a league-high eight High 5s—the most by any defender in PKL Season 11. His outstanding defensive displays earned him the well-deserved title of Best Defender of the Season.

Devank (Patna Pirates) - Best Raider of Season 11

Patna Pirates' Devank shone as the standout raider of PKL Season 11, claiming the coveted Best Raider award for his outstanding performances. With an impressive 301 raid points in 24 matches, Devank was a dominant force in attack, consistently outmaneuvering defenders with his agility and sharp instincts. He also tied with Ashu Malik of Dabang Delhi K.C. for the most Super 10s in the season, racking up an incredible 18–a personal best in any PKL campaign. A clutch performer under pressure, Devank became the backbone of the Pirates’ offence, driving them through pivotal moments. His phenomenal season not only marked a new high in his career but also established him as one of the league’s most formidable raiders.

Ayan Lochab (Patna Pirates) - New Young Player of the Season

Patna Pirates’ rising star Ayan Lochab made a big splash in PKL Season 11, earning the coveted New Young Player award for his outstanding debut campaign. Ayan displayed remarkable composure and skill to notch up 184 raid points in 25 matches. He took the Kabaddi mat by storm leaving defenders in the dust. During his time on the mat, Ayan notched up seven Super 10s and provided assistance in defence by contributing with nine tackle points. His fearless approach and ability to adapt to the high-pressure environment of the league have set him apart as a future of Kabaddi, making his first season truly unforgettable.
