The highly anticipated vivo Pro Kabaddi Season 8 is set to kick off in Bengaluru on December 22.
The action returns to the mat after a gap of two years with the last year being devoid of action due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Former champions U Mumba and Bengaluru Bulls will square off in the Season 8 opener with Telugu Titans taking on Tamil Thalaivas in the Southern Derby in the next match. Bengal Warriors will face U.P. Yoddha in the third and final match on the opening day.
Adding to the thrill and excitement will be the ‘Triple Panga’ driven by triple headers on all Saturdays throughout the season, including the first four days.
The kabaddi stars will be back showcasing their skills and swift moves that has made vivo Pro Kabaddi a grand success since its commencement in 2014.
The season will witness stars like Pardeep Narwal, Deepak Niwas Hooda, Siddharth Desai, Pawan Sehrawat and Naveen Kumar in action who have wowed the audiences before and will be back on the mat in vivo Pro Kabaddi Season 8.
Pardeep Narwal was snapped up by U.P. Yoddha at a record price of ₹1.65 crore at the 2021 auction, making him the most expensive player in the history of vivo Pro Kabaddi. He is also the first player to reach 1,000 raid points in vivo Pro Kabaddi and is currently perched at the top of the raiding list with 1169 points.
Bengal Warriors are the defending champions of the vivo Pro Kabaddi having defeated Dabang Delhi to clinch their first-ever title.
The entire tournament will be held in a secure bio-bubble at the Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield Hotel & Convention Centre.
The vivo Pro Kabaddi Season 8 will be telecast live from 7:30 PM IST on Star Sports 2/2 HD, Star Sports First/ 1 Hindi/1 HD Hindi/ 1 Tamil/1 Telugu/1 Kannada, Star Maa Gold, and Star Suvarna Plus TV channels in India.
