The Ranchi leg ended on Thursday with two exciting encounters at the Harivansh Tana Bhagat Indoor Stadium. Haryana Steelers returned to winning ways against Jaipur Pink Panthers (30-26), while U.P. Yoddha ended Patna Pirates’ unbeaten home record to win 46-41. The star of the day without any doubt was Yoddha captain Nitin Tomar for stopping the Patna express in its tracks.

Tomar scored a game-high 18 points (16 raid points and 2 tackle points). Tomar’s four-point super raid in the dying minutes of the match completely took the wind out of Patna’s sails and ensured U.P. Yoddha came back to winning ways against a rampaging Pirates side, who had won four and tied one in their previous five home encounters.

Patna did try to claw their way back into the match but Tomar’s mature captaincy and calm presence came in the way. His two tackle points also highlight how complete his performance was.
