Pro Kabaddi Season 11 witnessed some brilliant performances from the overseas players just like the previous editions.
Having brought in raw athleticism and a fresh outlook to the sport of kabaddi, these foreign players have not only impressed the enthusiasts with their style but also guided their teams to the coveted title.
With that being said, here we take a look at the top foreigners of Pro Kabaddi Season 11.
Mohammadreza Shadloui - Haryana Steelers
Iranian all-rounder Mohammadreza Shadloui showcased his dominance on both ends of the mat to earn the well-deserved title of Most Valuable Player (MVP) for PKL Season 11. Popularly known as the ‘Showstopper’, Shadloui played a pivotal role in guiding Haryana Steelers to their maiden PKL title in Season 11. The 24-year-old accumulated 82 tackle points in 24 matches, including four Super Tackles and five High 5s. Apart from emerging as the top defender of the season, he also contributed 57 raid points to conclude the season with an impressive 139 total points.
Fazel Atrachali - Bengal Warriorz
One of the best defenders in Pro Kabaddi history, Fazel Atrachali, produced some vintage performances for Bengal Warriorz in Season 11. Having been appointed the captain of the Kolkata-based franchise, the Iranian stalwart led from the front with his individual brilliance despite a challenging season for the Warriorz. Affectionately known as ‘the Sultan’, the left corner defender scripted history in Season 11 as he became the first player to amass 500 tackle points in the PKL. While the Warriorz finished at a disappointing 10th place in the standings, Atrachali wrapped up the season with 59 tackle points in 19 matches, including eight Super Tackles and three High 5s. He also contributed with four raid points.
Moein Shafaghi - Tamil Thalaivas
Tamil Thalaivas’ Moein Shafaghi was one of the standout overseas players in the recently concluded edition of the Pro Kabaddi. Even though Tamil Thalaivas endured another underwhelming campaign as they finished ninth in the Season 11 standings, Shafaghi’s raiding heroics was one of the huge positives for the Chennai-based franchise this season. The Iranian kabaddi star finished as the leading raider for Tamil Thalaivas in Season 11 with 103 raid points in 14 matches, including four Super 10s and four Super Raids to his name. Along with the likes of Nitesh Kumar and Amir Hossein Bastami in the defence, Shafaghi also contributed with 10 tackle points in Season 11.
Amirmohammad Zafardanesh - U Mumba
After being retained as the sole raider ahead of Season 11, Amirmohammad Zafardanesh repaid the faith as he was instrumental in helping U Mumba qualify for the Playoffs after three seasons. Under head coach Gholamreza Mazandarani, Zafardanesh once again emerged as one of the key players for the Mumbai-based franchise in the recently concluded season. The 20-year-old Iranian sensation accumulated 65 raid points in 21 matches. Having assembled a formidable defensive line-up with the likes of Sunil Kumar, Parvesh Bhainswal and Rinku, Zafardanesh also ended the season with 23 tackle points.
Reza Mirbagheri - Jaipur Pink Panthers
Iranian defender Reza Mirbagheri was one of the top foreign players in the recently concluded Pro Kabaddi Season 11. Having emerged as one of the strong pillars of the Jaipur Pink Panthers’ defence in the past few seasons, Mirbagheri continued his impressive form in Season 11 as well. Known for his relentless defensive techniques, Mirbagheri accumulated 58 tackle points in 23 matches, including four Super Tackles and two High 5s in Season 11. Along with his defensive credentials, Mirbagheri also contributed with 14 raid points to guide the Panthers to the PKL Season 11 Playoffs.
